A walk that takes in a little of both the town of North Berwick and the countryside surrounding it. Starting from North Berwick train station, tackle the short but steep climb up to the newly created countryside park. Take in the views of Berwick Law on the circular route before linking up with one of Scotland's Great Trails, the John Muir Way. Follow the signs for this through the Law grounds and onwards towards the Balgone Estate. There you leave the Way to follow a path that circles the beautiful lakes, the perfect opportunity for spotting wildlife, before retracing your steps back to North Berwick. The walk utilises well - used pathways but please note that some sections are essentially field margins and are not suitable for wheelers. Also the entrance to the Law is stepped and very narrow. This walk may be overlong for very young walkers but they would certainly enjoy exploring the country park and Balgone Lakes with the help of Mrs Booth’s Fascinating Finds.
